I read that, but having first hand knowledge of swearing in Galician/Portuguese/Spanish, I'm surprised by the conclusions regarding the type of swearing compared to Italian. I would say that the top swearing type is the same in all four languages. I shït on god/mary/christ are standard form for everyday swearing.
I'm not sure that the research was as extensive as it purports to be. There are a few (in)decent academic studies of swearing (including Benjamin Bergen's 'What The F'), though most of the ones I've got focus on English.
