Housing crisis is a supply and demand issue. Bollocks!
New developments in our village means that it will become a town. Extra supply so house prices will drop? Nope.
The new house asking prices are double the price of comparable existing houses. Anyone believe that they are better built?
FWIW, no locals are buying the new houses.

It is a supply issue, because the developers don't build the type of houses needed.

...and price them for maximum profits, not the local pricing.
I hope they get burned. Most of the first built ones are still empty after 6 months of completion never mind going on sale.

I suspect that housebuilders haven't really accepted how flat the market is overall and adjusted prices accordingly. Given the birthrate, and if we end up with net emigration because of the hostility to immigration, I can't see why the market should take off again, especially if the buy-to-let bubble has been burst with the Renters' rights bill.

Haha. That's funny. I'm going to a barbecue on Saturday, and have been offered a lift by someone who lives just around the corner. I just know him as a neighbour. Just Googled him, and find out he's a much-lauded authority on diabetes research, is a CBE, and won the GlaxoSmithKline Prize, amongst others.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, knowing someone for years as a neighbour, without knowing anything about an eminent back-history?

Did you watch it? There are some absolutely stunning goals in there. Only the one minor fight clip as clickbait.

Some unreal skills in there.

Gretzky ain't got sh!t on any of them.

They are remarkable, but tbh I couldn't tell the difference between a good goal and a bad goal, because I can't even assess good defending or goal tending from bad.

I have the same problem with rugby and basketball. The former is just a pile of men and then someone runs away. The latter is basically like crazy golf as far as I can tell.

How do you know they're remarkable if you don't know the difference?

The skating.

I've seen ice hockey skating it done badly when I was in Canada (some sorority game or other - which is a clue to why I was motivated to go).

It doesn't look like that. It looks like a.grpup of people, each wearing a disguise, moving quite slowly and carrying a stick to stop them falling over. As far as I can tell, below a certain level the location of the puck doesn't really matter. Eventually someone will accidentally kick it into one of the nets.

I did go to a Canucks game. It was loud. There was beer. There was fighting. I can't remember who they were playing or who won.

So you don't know sh!t about ice hockey. Which is fine.

You're equally clueless about rugby and basketball.

Again, this is fine.
