I think he's just not very bright, and wants everyone to know. I'm not sure he should be allowed behind the wheel.

Sitwell is a classic public school tit who thinks they are tremendously funny (see also Giles Coren). I remember he had to resign as Editor of a food magazine some years ago for mocking an aspiring cookery writer who had sent him vegan recipes.

I realise it's just posh petrolhead clickbait, but obviously if he can't drive at or below the speed limit, he shouldn't have a driving licence.

Could be argued that the people who shouldn't have a license are those who think you have drive everywhere at 20 to be safe. I wouldn't go that far, just advise them to take the bus instead and leave the roads clearer for competent drivers.

You are correct.

But I don’t know anyone who drives everywhere at 20mph.

And I‘ve seen plenty of people driving at speed who are not competent.

Wow, that's fairly near Exeter. When was the last time Brian posted on here?

Must admit that the view is just like Haytor.

Competent drivers drive at 20mph where it's mandated or where that's the safe speed, like through your village.

I've said before that there are places where 20 is an appropriate limit. But those places are fairly limited, as opposed to the much more widespread imposition that is happening currently.

Ruthie Henshall (who?) is flogging a tell all book.
The main story that the papers are focusing on is a 4 year relationship with Prince Edward from 1988. I have two issues with this.

1. No one cares
2. The papers are referring to it as an affair.
Presumably to drum up interest in a story that no one cares about. It wasn’t an affair, it was a normal relationship. An affair involves another estranged party.

Meanwhile the Telecrap is reporting on Widdecombe murder (factual) while slipping in comments about Reform MPs being in great danger and needing protection.

Crass.

Well, if you are a fan of musical theatre, she is one of our best known stars...

The key here is "flogging a tell all book". Her publisher wants money. Feeding "salacious gossip" to the press, sells copy. It won't have been Ruthie's idea at all.
