I like how the Daily Record thought it was too awful to print, considering their usual output.

To be fair they weren't the first Tosseurs to do an embarassing flounce

Do you remember coming home from a day in the office stinking of other people's fags?

Hanging your clothes up outside to be slightly freshened for the next day.

Yep. My Father stopped smoking in the fifties and was not part of the problem but as soon as you opened the door to his firm's office you were overwhelmed by smoke smell. Same in Civil Service offices I worked in until the mid/late nineties. Even years after the whole building was non smoking you still got the smell if (eg) a carpet was disturbed.

Seems Reform aren't just racist, some are homophobes too. Malcolm Offord, Reform leader in Scotland, in trouble for a 'joke' told at a Burns supper. The link includes it, NSFW and not remotely funny.

Journalists tried to interview the lone Reform MSP about this the other day and he ran off, it looked like something from Panorama when they track down a dodgy figure who legs it. Apparently he had even left Parliament early and via a back entrance to try and avoid them. Exactly the kind of accountability you want in your elected officials!

As for Offord, I remember the days when people were either sacked immediately or at least jumped before they were pushed for such things. We seem to have lost those days sadly, they just ride this stuff out and hope the initial furore dies down.

I must admit that seeing addicted smokers being given time off-site for a quick top-up of nicotine both amuses me, and annoys me (if it's on paid time - would they do the same for cocaine addicts?) - the amusement comes from them having to stand in the rain or whatever for their 'fix'.

Another amusing (to me) side effect of the "smoking fix". I was working as a Contractor, at a Government Office. There was reasonably tight security, ie retired military type checking PhotoId every day as you entered. I soon discovered, that at the back of the building, where there was a small car park, was where the smokers went for their "fix". From then on, I entered and left via the "smokers door", no security etc. 😂

Should we just call Farage 'Nigel Savile'?

Good Lord, whomever came up with that slogan and branding really didn't think it through did they?

Yebbut it winds up the libs, so referencing a prolific paedophile is really funny to them.

I did wonder whether this was a deliberate 'joke'. I had hoped not, but the more I think about it (aligned with the homophobic 'jokes' made by Farage and Offord), I can certainly imagine that this was intentional. If so, making a joke, and thereby attempting to diminish the actions of one of the most prolific paedophile/sexual abuser's in history, is perhaps as low as it gets for Farage and co.
