All uphill

Slow and steady
I did wonder whether this was a deliberate 'joke'. I had hoped not, but the more I think about it (aligned with the homophobic 'jokes' made by Farage and Offord), I can certainly imagine that this was intentional. If so, making a joke, and thereby attempting to diminish the actions of one of the most prolific paedophile/sexual abuser's in history, is perhaps as low as it gets for Farage and co.

I agree. Gradually eroding any morals and ethical standards, while playing to some people's guilty and disgusting fantasies.

I was watching that when it happened, and I applauded them for doing it, Anderson was being a complete twat.
In that clip I like the change in his expression from the cheesy grin when he realises they are actually going to walk out and not put up with his shoot.

I also saw it at the time and just thought it was a bizarre, thin-skinned over-reaction. That was Clive Anderson's style and it was pretty tame mickey taking. I always felt sorry for whichever one it was who initially stayed, he also seemed to think it was a joke initially before effectively giving an embarassed shrug and a bit of 'I suppose I'd better go too' (so quite like Jenrick and co yesterday when they missed their cue).

There used to be a car upholstery company called Trim'll Fix It. Rebranded to TFI after the Saville scandal. Must admit I was a bit surprised at the latest 28 Years later installment having a gang/cult in it called the Jimmys. They have blonde hair and wear tracksuits and gold chains. It's supposedly a comment on how we misremember the past but it seemed in bad taste. I had an Art teacher who used to go to Saville's discos in the 60's. She said he was very dodgy, and that was years before anything came out about him.

Same here. It was very apparent that the twins seemed happy with the jokes and very light joshing but Barry Gibb clearly had less of a sense of humour and a massively bigger ego. He didn't like the singling out of Robin's successful single and Anderson dismissing the single he had written with Maurice. He seemed to intensely dislike the twins getting more of the spotlight than he was, and was already annoyed by the many gags about high pitched singing which he'd probably been hearing for 20 years. I think whatever they thought they were being brought on for didn't match their expectations - well particularly Barry.

I think the point of the Jimmys was that in their timeline Saville had never been exposed.

My boss in a previous job had been to University in Leeds, and said that there were many stories circulating about him.

Even when I was a little kid I used to say there was something profoundly dodgy about him, not just weird/eccentric as most people felt. I would imagine you can't commit the sheer quantity of crimes he did without a lot of people being well aware of what he was. Sadly a lot of powerful people and institutions seemed to dismiss his crimes or buy his bull*** when they did question him.

There was a gym not all that far from me in cannock, called "Gym'll Fix It". Not sure if they're still there as i have'nt been that way for years, but i occasionally drove past it while commuting. All this was before it came about.

I think he said something like "I'd love to stay but I don't do impressions." which I thought was quite good.

The denials of Ipswich FC not knowing that Farage had done his photos there without their knowledge is falling apart rapidly. Seems that the politics of their chairman and Farage are closely aligned. It's made it into the NYT.
