No Stevo, the only condescending one is you, suggesting people are thick as that is your only real tactic when you have no actual argument to speak of.

You need to stop talking bollox mg. If you can't understand my argument that's not my problem

I think you and MG would get on well well as you both talk bollox and both don't understand tax properly.

Stevo, my point was never about tax as you well know. My point was calling out your hypocrisy.

Your point on Tice is he has not (so far) broken any law and therefore whether or not that is unethicall is immaterial. That's fine, you are entitled to that opinion.

My point is that when you see a left wing politician do something legal but (in some opinions) unethical, you will criticise them for their lack of ethics. You clearly did this when Starmer and co. had accepted gifts from donors.

You did not apply the same moral standards to Tice that you apply to so called lefties. In fact, with Tice you are adamant it does not matter. That is a double standard on your part and that is hypocritical in my opinion.

You often bash those on the left as hypocrites but refuse to ever accept you can be hypocritical too.

I will point out that the left usually criticises those the left that do that sort of thing, like Starmer* accepting gifts from rich donors.

* I know Starmer is not really on the left, but gave the example for the sake of argument.

I don't believe this for one minute... but if those disgruntled voters who just want to give the government a good kicking (just because!), then if this were more widely reflected (by other than Lord Ashcroft), then this could make everyone else's calculations interesting.

I suspect the numbers are nonsense but possibly reflect the direction of travel. The traditional parties have lost touch and people on both left and right are looking for alternatives. For whatever reason the Lib Dems are wasting a golden opportunity.

My counterpoint would be that it is those polled who have lost touch with reality and have unrealistic demands/expectations.
Lib Dems are still in the changing room while there is an open goal waiting. Perplexing.

Thinking (aloud), the "give the Government a good kicking" is often used but one wonders why people classed as such are adopting that view. Maybe the "a good kicking" is a linguistic way of suggesting lack of reasons where why would people feel this way ... maybe because the Government (or their previously supported Party) are failing to do what they sought, how things are continuing to get worse and/or how the Government is just failing to listen.

Maybe this group of people who are no longer happy with the way their supported party is acting so have (maybe even reluctantly) to switch their support.
