There was a short clip of the comedian Sara Pascoe talking about when she shared a dressing room with Farage, and he admitted "I don't find comedy funny". Who'd have guessed: that whole laughing bonhomie shtick is just an act covering up for an unpleasant and fragile prima donna who needs to get his own way.

I think if you quizzed a lot of Reform voters about Farage, they'd not know how wealthy he is or how 'establishment' he is. The only message they've heard is that he's anti-establishment and on their side. Genuinely, I think that's all they hear, as everything else about his is the establishment 'lying'.

As I say, it's a tragedy all round. It would be interesting to know if Cambridge offered support after it all blew up, and his position became untenable as more 'questions' were raised about his achievements and claims.

It'll actually be interesting to see what Binface does now. Will he just go back to being the comedy candidate in other by-elections, or has he rather spiked that by being the main alternative in this one, and everything subsequently would be an anti-climax?

And satisfying Färages's whim cost the public purse £quarter of a million. And all for the outcome Färage wanted where we are where we were before Färage's tantrum, nothing changed except the wasted £¼ million.
