I wonder why they didn't announce this policy before the by-election?

Even if they had published it, their base are so well trained on doublethink that they would have lapped it up. We are at war with Eurasia, we have always been at war with Eurasia. The increase of the chocolate ration from 32 to 30 grams per week is a triumph of our production capabilities.

"Of course climate change is real. But where is the evidence that net zero is going to stop it. Where is the evidence? There isn’t any.

Climate change has always happened – it always will. Maybe the smarter thing to do is to adapt to it than think arrogantly that you can stop it.

I am old enough to remember 1976 this feels a bit to same. That was 50 years ago. I think when it is a bit warm, let’s enjoy it.

And if it means that English wine and sparkling wine gets better and better – fantastic! That means we can take on the French, fantastic! Lets celebrate some of things rather than just be sort of doom and gloom about it."

I understand they are playing to a certain audience that will largely nod along in agreement. But when they say this crap they really do sound like f******* idiots. Yeah, let's celebrate sparkling wine whilst sh!t loads of people die from heat exhaustion!

He is wilfully misleading the audience. He must know the difference between climate and weather.

Isn't that what the posh public schools are for?

The 'while sounding reasonable' is an optional module.

Jenrick appears not to be taking any questions from FT journalists at his press conferences - they are counting, and it's three in a row. I'm sure that'll make them give up their enquiries.
