Can't spell, Can't Punctuate....Who care's, Sue Me
Same as last time, I’ve read some reports, seems like they’re getting the knives out a little more for each other, anyone prepared to admit to watching it and want to give a summary?

Im summary ….they are all back stabbing tossers, which would be right up the street of some members on here ( remember i said some and not all)

I still don’t understand how you could describe it as entertaining to have a particular candidate win. Not with this shower.

A) what will be will be, I don’t have a say (until the GE, and even then, it is of questionable value).

B) I could join in, watch every minute, read every tweet, and achieve nothing, except, perhaps, raised BP.

C) I can try and get a smile out of it

I prefer C

Perhaps, you don’t. Such is life.

It’s not a talent show, the country’s future is at stake.

It's not really though, is it? It's not like there's one that would be a 'good' choice. They're all Brexit-crazed, self-serving, swivel-eyed Tory monsters who would cheerfully watch any of us die if there was a vote, or a quid in it for them. We're equally f*cked whichever of them ends up winning.

I kind of agree with @BoldonLad , might as well favour whichever would be funniest and die laughing. Although looking at them, I maybe don't have a sense of humour.

So... reading about the debate, Sunak accuses the others of promoting socialism by promising tax cuts. Really?

Surely, none of the runners are viable, no old Etonians?
Rishi was at Winchester which is of similar stature to Eton. Tugendhat was also privately educated.

Mordaunt and Truss were both Comprehensive educated. Badenoch was at a fee paying school while living in Nigeria but did A levels at a state FE college.

Perhaps the title of this thread unwittingly has hit upon the best system for electing leaders
We should have a modern pentathletes type event involving candidates running and riding in different handicapped events

would make for more fun TV - perhaps even a political Its a Knockout...or for Remainers Jeux San Frontiers

My impression at the moment is as follows:-
  • Mordaunt : Will say anything to be the popular girl. Blows with the wind. Wants Leadsom as Chancellor. Willing to provide homeopathy on the NHS Boris taint 0%
  • Truss : Poundshop Thatcher. Literally copying the photoshoots, the voice, the pacing. Incapable of original thought. Excellent tool for her controllers. Couldn't find her way out of a room. Boris taint 100%
  • Sunak: Wants to be loveable but can't escape being super rich and avoiding taxes. Trying to pretend he didn't support Boris for 3 years. Boris taint 100%
  • Badenoch : Anti-woke, a bit clueless, many promises but not thought out. Boris taint 0%
  • Tugendhat : Can engage in rational debate. Would do away with the more stupid decisions over recent years such as privatising Ch4. Fully distanced and disapproving of Boris and team. Boris taint 0%.
I think Tugendhat would be the best outcome for the country. This means that he almost certainly has no chance at all of winning. Truss and Sunak have no chance due to Boris taint. Mordaunt is the bookies favourite as she appeals to people incapable of rational thought. Badenoch is the wild card.

Truss and Sunak are expected to pull out of the next debate on Sky.
As it’s clear the process is doing nothing to help the Tory party.

I watched the ITV debate and thought Sunak and Badenoch presented themselves well, Tugendhat was weak, Truss unconvincing and Mordaunt content free.

As for policies - none of them are my thing.

If the Tories asked me to choose for them I would say Sunak.
