Seemingly trivial things that elicit an emotional response of some kind

I had a freehub failure today. Well it was actually an ignoring one of the many bad noises my winter bike makes failure. Anyhow, elderly man gave me some WD40 to try to get the pawls engaged. I had to try quite hard to persuade him not to give me a life home once it seemed reliable enough. It would have ruined the inside of his car.

Anyway. There are kind folk still around. Not sure what the emotion is. I would like to think optimistically I'll mellow and be like him when I'm older, but I doubt it.

I fixed it. When I say fixed I mean took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together, this time with the end cap tight enough to keep the freehub better acquainted with the rest of the hub.

Personally I attribute the whole thing to a design flaw. It has to be.

This is a feature to enable them to get jammed in the tiny micro pump you are trying to use at night by the road side.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, doesn't one always tighten these? Otherwise the slightest little knock lets out air.

I got a new mobile (Samsung A16) to replace the gnackered Huawei for the French SIM (which basically functions as a wifi router when I'm in France), and, probably unsurprisingly, transferring settings and everything from the older Samsung (A15) was flawless and quick. And at £97, I think the cheapest smartphone I've ever bought.
