Was interested to hear Lisa Nandy being interviewed on LBC this morning. Covering lots of topics, but the one that caught my attention was when Nick Ferrari asked her about ruling out Britain paying reparations for slavery, her answer on more than one occasion linked into the claim that the countries demanding reparations are amongst the worst victims of climate change.
I am not in a position to dispute or confirm the countries and the effect climate change has on them, but was interested to hearing this being mentioned in response to a question on reparations for slavery. As far as I can see, climate change and slavery have no causal connection.
I have no idea what the purpose of her linking the two topics was, and unfortunately the presenter never asked her about the link
