She's a civil servant, you thick bell. She has had to be politically neutral.

Now she is to be CoS. Do you even know what that job is?

There is no corruption in this appointment, and the Tory hoo ha is bollocks because it was Johnson who chose her to lead the investigation and then thanked her for her work.
Who said corruption you prick ?

You are probably right. And right now is the media battle to shape perception with Tories splatting their faux-outrage all over Twitter.

Truth is nobody is impartial or unbiased, but there is a difference between being impartial and acting impartial. To anyone with a functioning brain the claims of corruption are ridiculous, especially in the light of effusive Tory praise of Gray when she published the report.

Unfortunately not everyone in this country is blessed with a brain that functions quite as well as yours or mine or even the other good folk on this forum who are not that far behind us.

There is no need to prove the claims are true; that they are out there is enough.

Sure, but I think there is a large pool of anger towards Johnson and his parties that may well colour people's reactions to this (non) story.

Of course, from Labour's perspective the appointment is all part of saying "we are ready for government", but they probably also hoped that Gray's appointment would speak to their own propriety, given that Gray was the person sitting in judgement over Tory baccanalian activities

I did a little non-scientific 'poll' last night, at the pub. Five of us, 2 x retired teachers, 1 retired Policeman, 1 retired Accountant, plus me.

To the introduction of the topics Sue Gray and Partygate:

1 person out of 4 knew who Sue Gray was

4 people, "Partygate, are they still going on about that, who cares?"

As I said, not scientific, and, may not be typical.
