I sort of agree only I don't think that they do actually have a problem with the approach to asylum, what they have a problem with is what they think is the approach to asylum based on alarmist headlines in the Mail, Sun, etc along with the dog whistling from Reform.

When what they think is a problem leads to the possibility of power for Reform then it becomes a huge problem.

The counter-messaging from Labour, Greens etc is not working and it’s no good just shouting louder.

Greens might be. Labour isn't counter-messaging, it's just trying to out Reform Reform. They *should* be focusing on how asylum seekers can be assets, how they are getting rid of the cost of housing asylum seekers by investing in more staff to process claims, how they are monetising asylum seekers by issuing temporary NI numbers so that they can work and thus pay tax. All of these things would help.

Instead they do crass publicity stunts like paying families £40k to bugger off.

Just think of the weeping and wailing when Frankie discovers he's not entitled to benefits because he left his job voluntarily!
FAFO

He will be, but only after half a year, by which point his savings will probably have been obliterated and if he manages to get a job interview it'll be awkward when he's asked why he left his previous role.

What's the collective noun for a load of twitter linked posts? A dump of twitter? A banality?
