May I suggest that you look at the Edinburgh Agreement which does actually state that the Scot Gov does have the legal right to hold a second referendum if there's a major material change.

What happened in 2016? That's the trigger.

in 2016 you was already living as a TAX exile in Hong Kong....pay no tax, get no say

Never ever heard the word political being used……but hey, the scots will change as many words as possible to go against the democratic vote of its people.

So Starmer has come out in support of the government's Public Order Bill, said he’s anti-rejoin EU,anti-strike, anti-climate protest, wants to increase deportations....anything else ?
He's watching the Tories literally collapse without doing anything and all he's got is more of the same.

Could you point me to the paragraph in the post-referendum agreement which states that the result was permanent, incontrovertable and could never be re-run, overruled or disputed in any way whatsoever?

Since 2014, the SNP have won every single election in Scotland by a significant margin. They have done so as a party that exists to achieve Scottish independence, and with a manifesto pledge to obtain a second democratic referendum.

Do you think the people who repeatedly elect them somehow misunderstand what they are voting for?

No, I don't, personally, but, many on here seem to think that true of the English electorate and the Tories?

Where does it say 'once in a generation'? You've plainly seen all the relevant official documentation, but I can Google 'til I'm blue in the face & I cannot find a damn thing. All I can find is stuff like this:

I'm more inclined to think the things people like about the Tories override the things they don't like. They'll take a bit of pain for the vicarious satisfaction of seeing worse pain inflicted on the people they despise who deserve it.

That’s your view. Fair enough.

Theoretically yes. However it was always a given that France would have zero incentive to stop dingies setting asail for the UK thus increasing the number of asylum seekers. The Visit Rwanda disincentive was not in the Brexit manifesto, though to be honest, it might have increased the miniscule Brexit majority!

I know, don't feed the troll but... <sigh>

Democracy from the Greek:
Demos - People
Kratos - Rule

Therefore literally "rule of the people".

Referendum:
a general vote by the electorate on a single political question which has been referred to them for a direct decision.

OK - with that out of the way, yes the SNP did agree that the Scottish referendum of 2014 was a once in a lifetime vote. Sadly they did not have a crystal ball or a psychic that could read the future. In any ordinary timeline, it would have been a once in a lifetime vote. We are not in that ordinary timeline.

The Conservatives led by the ERG engaged in a campaign of untruth and lies which caused us to leave Europe, destabilise the economy, crash the pound, ridicule ourselves in the eyes of the world, wiped billions off the economy and massively increased national debt and made people overwhelmingly poorer.

Scotland did not vote leave. In fact they voted overwhelmingly to remain. 62% vs 38%. Every council in Scotland is a remain council.
Given that Parliament has metaphorically walked up to Scotland and told them to shut their cake-holes whilst simultaneously defecating on their lawn, then smearing shoot all over their houses and stealing their children's dinner money, Scotland feels a little bit aggrieved.

So, given that the grand turd in chief at the time failed to listen to Scotland, failed to listen to Northern Ireland and pissed the economy up the wall, Sturgeon has a clear mandate for another referendum, even if she did once say it was a "once in a lifetime" vote.

The only way to avoid this vote and the break up of the UK, is for the UK Government to turn around and agree with what even the Telegraph are saying which is that we need to rejoin Europe on a Norway type basis - so join the single market, have freedom of movement but satisfy the UK equivalent of the 3rd Reich that we have sovereignty, get someone sane in charge of the country and undo the utter shitshow that Boris et al have created.

We now have conclusive proof that "Project Fear" was actually "Project Sane Reality".

Scotland got a vote as part of the UK……..the UK which scotland is part of, voted to leave. Simple as that.
