How to know when it's a terrorist attack carried out by non white British persons?

When Authorities give no information but ask people not to speculate?

Have some decency, you despicable man.

Hear hear. Just made the mistake of clicking "Show ignored content" and realised he's still the same as ever, spouting hate and reposting bollocks from Twitter.

Don't they do that with every attack without exception?

You're a lawyer so you of all people should know not to spread mis-information when the facts have not been established. That makes you no better than the treacherous tosspot CXR Andy.

Ohh dear, I seem to have hit a bit of a nerve there.

Sorry you are hurt by my asking 2 questions.

In the meantime, it's now nearly 14 hours since the incident and nearly 14 hours since 2 people were arrested and no information is provided about those arrested.

What happened to the pledges after Southport attack to release information to prevent speculation.

It's interesting in the response to these incidents that information is not released yet the powers that be ask people not to speculate. It's easy to reduce speculation by releasing information that does not run risk of being a contempt of court. Eg 2 arrested were of x nationality does not in anyway prejudice and investigation or a future hearing.

It's also invariably the case the authorities do this in terrorist attacks, but if it's not deemed to be a terrorist attack the rapidly saying it's not a terrorist attack.

Feel free to comeback and discuss this when it is disclosed it is a terror related incident

I don't get your opening sentences. What nerve? I point out something and I have hurty feelings? How did you figure that BS out? That is a truly bizarre position to take. I'm pretty sure that won't last long in a court of law.

If it takes them 14+ hours then so be it. Nine people have been stabbed. Let the police do their job properly without pressure from internet warriors.

Going by the information I'm aware of, Police routinely do not mention anything about the attacker(s) until the full facts have been established. Also, Southport was a classic example why they were forced to do this. Within an hour of that attack, it was going around the internet that the attacker was an asylum seeker who had arrived on a small boat. In fact, he was a British born Christian, raised in Wales and was living in Southport at the time. Not an asylum seeker, not even a Muslim. The police had no choice but to release this info, while the investigation was still ongoing, to stop knuckle draggers from attacking people. You know, the kind of morons that post stuff from X publicly. But, since then, knuckle dragging internet warriors expect this to be the norm and it's not. Again, I point out, you're supposed to be a lawyer, you of all people should know this. What happened with the Southport investigation could cause the court case to collapse.

If it is a terrorist attack, that'll be for the Police to decide. Not someone on an internet forum who has a long standing reputation of starting arguments with people when they're bored.

There are two perspectives here

1. It's been 14 hours already
2. It's only been 14 hours

Bearing in mind it happened late in the evening and it is a Sunday morning, I'd have thought the imminent pres conference has been arranged quite quickly. So 2., basically.

you carry on in your little fantasy world, meanwhile those of us who live in the real world will deal with the real situation

Your post actually, not that you seem to realise, supports exactly what I was saying , but you appear not to understand that

Its incredible that you are so outraged and offended by my post, but are not expressing any concerns about another terror attack and 9 people with life threatening injuries
you quote the Southport incident and as a result of that the Government and police acknowledged the need to be more transparent and release information quicker

Anyway, have a nice day and enjoy your Sunday.

WTF are you on about?

Where's the outrage? What fantasy world? I'm beginning to believe that you're the one living in a Walter Mitty world by claiming that you're a lawyer but certainly not acting like one. I understood exactly what you were saying and it you used my response as an excuse to throw a tantrum because someone pointed facts out to you. Not something that goes down well in legal circles and I know as Mr Cookiemonster is a Barrister.

Answer me this. In all the years that you've been on this forum, why is it that everytime someone points out a fact or two to you you take it as a personal attack? I've seen you do this many times over the years and it's just pathetic.

Oh, and how is a lawyer meant to act when in their personal life.
are lawyers not allowed to have opinions unless approved by you?

you make yourserlf look even more stupid with every post.
Indeed, the BBC have just commented on the lack of information so far leading to speculation online. So are the BBC also in a fantasy world?
you yourself must be in that fantasy world you describe as you have reported about the speculation online.

I understood exactly what you were saying and it you used my response as an excuse to throw a tantrum because someone pointed facts out to you.

You have not pointed out any facts to me. You got upset and outraged because I dared to point out the lack of information provided so far. The lack of information that results in wild speculation online
Not something that goes down well in legal circles and I know as Mr Cookiemonster is a Barrister.

And? Good for him. Not sure that has any relevance to the fact there so far has been a lack of information provided despite 2 suspects being arrested over 15 hours ago.

If this had been an attack by say Millwall football fans on their way back from a game, we would have been told that information
Answer me this. In all the years that you've been on this forum, why is it that everytime someone points out a fact or two to you you take it as a personal attack?

Do you understand the difference between opinion and facts? I'm not sure you do

Anyway, enjoy your day and have a nice time.

Chat later as i'm off out in the real world...

PS If you want to confirm that I am a lawyer, then feel free to look me up on the Roll, it will even tell you where I work as well as confirming my status. Actual facts for you

I realise that political parties, including Labour, might want to be a reasonably 'broad church' for various reasons, but this seems to be taking it to an extreme:

https://www.desmog.com/2025/10/30/labour-mp-graham-stringer-rubbing-shoulders-with-the-far-right/

Over recent months, Graham Stringer – who has been the MP for Blackley, Manchester since 1997 – has been cosying up to individuals and groups involved in spreading radical anti-migrant, anti-abortion, anti-climate views.

Stringer is a director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF) – the UK’s foremost climate science denial group. The GWPF has stated that carbon dioxide has been “mercilessly demonised”, when in fact it is a “benefit to the planet” and should be “two or three times” higher than current levels.
