Welcome yourself into the new modern crisis
Isn't 'ploughman's lunch' a bullshit marketing term from the 70s or something anyway? It's about as traditional as bloody Werther's Original.

Edit: what he said above...

I like the sound of the Cheese Bureau !

Me too.

We still have a 'butter drawer'

A whole cupboard full of cheese sounds pretty ace though 🐭

Love cheese...if you could only pick three things to take to a desert island cheese would be one of them !
Had to look up the "cheese bureau" and was sort of hoping it would be some secret, clandestine operation....then reality hit it wasn't !
I did love the advertisements though 🤣

The real scandal is £12.50 for a pub salad.

I take it you don't live in Devon @AuroraSaab
Plus surcharge for Dartmoor..

"Another said: “Sorry guys, won’t be visiting a ‘woke’ pub for my lunch. Yes, there are lots of women farmers today and I salute them, but stop changing the past.”...

What about 'the past' is anyone changing,,??

There always were lots of women farmers .
It's just nobody bothered to acknowledge them in the names of things - now they do..
Well, a bit, sometimes..🤔

Just how fragile do you have to be to find that a problem.??

I have ventured that far South in the past but not for quite a while. Perhaps Devon and Cornwall attract a more well heeled tourist than the places I frequent for hols. If we ate and drank there as a family it would be £100, which seems a lot for a pub lunch.

Should have gone spoons....

I was a big fan of the Spoons chicken caesar salad but they dropped it for something with quinoa in. Can't beat Spoonies for value though.

Cheaper places are available..

But not in cutesy pubs on the moor.
