I know you can condense water from soil, but the scale on which that would need to be done to supply a town with drinking water from the ocean seems like an incredible feat. I hope it's viable; it would be a game changer for some regions of the world.

Even the most magnanimous among us would struggle not to feel at least a small frisson of glee at any 'misfortune' that befalls that miserable prawn Y-L.

Although in this case he's totally an architect of his own downfall..

Well it's always been the case that work expands to fit the time allowed.

Depends on the nature of of the work though ..
And who owns and controls and profits from the 'robots'

Most people want to do some sort of work, or make a contribution to their society.
Just not work themselves into the ground..
