Do you mean in the context of protest, or, in the context of this particular protest?

In the context of your question.

I would consider it the act of having a teenage daughter....

Or son, in some cases...

Fwiw I was usially a very quiet teenager, always off and away mucking about in the fields and the forests, or elsewise diligently doing my homework 😇

Sure that bothered my parents more -- sometimes..

Pretty much whatever they / we do, it's a cause for concern..

In the absence of moderation on this board, how do we go about getting posts moved into a new thread? This Steve Bray topic deserves it’s own thread, leaving the good news one for, well, good news.

I know how to start a new thread (and Newfhouse has kindly done so), my question was how to shift the relevant posts from this thread to a new one. It would keep the continuity of those, from both sides, who have already expressed views. 👍

You could quote em all..

Whilst subtly shifting the syntax in order to ally better with your views .

That should do it 👍🏼👍🏼

But can noise be violent?

If someone came and shouted through a loudspeaker outside your bedroom window for a couple of years, and followed you to the shops also shouting at you (sometimes less than a metre away), would you consider it an act of violence or an act of quiet protest?

That sounds like anti-social behaviour, not a legitimate protest about a specific issue.

I like this forum more and more! There is no moderation ... except for when you want it.

Tremendous irony considering the posts on the last couple of pages. Good work.

It's neither obviously. Please ask better questions and learn the difference between protest and harrassment.
In this situation, as was alluded to earlier, protest is anything you agree with, harassment is anything you don't.

If I set up a loudspeaker and had some placards made outside Farm Mudsticks, then followed her and her colleagues to the shop shouting obscenities at them because I disagreed with her farming practices (which I am sure are above reproach) that is a protest so fine is it not?

In the context of your question.

There were actually two questions, and, since you selectively quoted my post (only quoting one word), I am unsure which question you are referring to... but...

isn't "intimidating" a somewhat dependant on the person(s) who feel intimidated? eg, I, personally, may not feel intimidated by (say) a placard bearing group, but, I may feel intimidated by a noisy placard waving group. In a slightly different way, I may not feel intimidated by a male walking along a dark street, behind me, whilst, my wife, may feel intimidated by that.
