Have I Got News For You
@haveigotnews

After the effect of 'Mr Bates vs the Post Office', let’s hope Toby Jones is also working on new TV dramas about water pollution, climate change, covid, PPE contracts, the refugee crisis, the cost of living, energy prices, and the NHS

Just been watching Jake Berry taking on Ian Hislopp on the Peston show on C4

the best bits are towards the end of the programme when Ian goes totally ape

but Jess phillips was there as well and she spends most of teh programme laughing herself silly
I am seriously worried about how she made it back to her dressing room

anyway - Jake v. Ian
Jake Berry was rather over matched - bit like watching a row boat try to take on a battleship - just got ran over every time

and, of course, Ian was just relying on facts and evidence - and, in this case, anger

Hilarious

No you haven't - it's on ITV!!

That doesn't surprise me. Unlike Tory ministers, Hislop will have briefed himself and ensured he has refreshed every detail possible, not to mention having overseen the editorial for 12 years of reporting on it.

I'm just watching it myself for the entertainment value!

Hoh yes, that was great!

Hislop: "You can't just spout out rubbish and lies, and expect to not be interrupted!"
Very true

I haven't watched the whole programme, just a 1:40 and an around 4 minute clips in which Jess Phillips doesn't say a single word. She wouldn't have been expecting that. Does she actually speak at all?

Thing is that they often do - I think he was rather shocked that he implied something and immediately got shouted down for it

normally they get away with it

The comedy spelling mistake is good, but I don’t think you can put this issue at Khan’s door.
pubs and nightclubs are closing all over the country.
i suspect there are far more factors affecting this, like cost of living.

I wouldn't dream of doing so.

There was a wonderful bit on the BBC before

One of the normal Parliament reporters was doing a bit to camera about the Rwanda bill debate

He said
"blah blah blah - and Lee Anderson and Brendan Clark Smith who are well known to be a pair of"

pause while he got his words strait
pause

Deputy Chairmen,........."

I am sure the pause was not deliberate (!) but it was just that little bit longer than it should have been

hilarious
probably just me but I loved it
