They even have their own “Star Chamber” which reviews legal issues and told them to vote against the bill.
But they weren’t brave enough to do it.
So now we have a bill which almost no one wants. And won’t do what it was set out to do.
All just a bunch of daffodils.

Self interest obviously. Daily Heil.
If Trump wins, Europe is further in the quagmire. Trumps more natural allie is Russia and/or isolationism.

It's hard to believe that a staid serious commentator like Boris Johnson would say something like that if he didn't honestly believe it.

I mean, you're making him out to be some sort of serial liar and fantasist!!

Johnson has a history of jumping on the bandwagon of whatever cause will benefit him.
My worry is that he knows a Trump win will be good for Project Boris. And he suspects, with a fair degree of certainty that Trump will win.

The worrying thing if Trump wins, is that the politicians who kept him in line aren't around any more.

He's like Lord Sutch, without the self awareness.

He has learned that the ones who are not prepared to kowtow to him are of no use to his aims and will likely subvert his wishes. And those who are prepared to kowtow to him, at least in Congress, now out number those he describes as RINOs "republicans in name only".
It is likely to be same with his advisors, whether outside or within any future White House.

Another example of what really pisses me right off about the current ruling party. (Disclaimer - my youngest daughter is Type 1 diabetic and has been for 4 years now)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68057324

Theresa May's type 1 diabetes go-to was Jelly Babies

Not withstanding the headline which makes me want to shout "OF COURSE IT F****ING WAS - THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT THE NHS RECOMMENDS FOR A HYPO YOU MORONS ". The thing which has annoyed me is this:-
Lady May also hailed new artificial-pancreas technology, which means thousands more people will be able to manage their condition far more easily on the NHS.
Absolutely. This is great news. BUT...

Type 1 Diabetics in many areas aren't allowed to have it because the Conservative party have taken so much money out of the economy, the NHS and local services that Trusts won't prescribe the technology due to cost.

So yes Lady May - it is great news but only if YOU PROVIDE SOME *&^%*&^ *T**&^*ing Money! Money that you could claw back from Baroness Mone, all the Tech companies that don't pay Tax etc etc.

Absolutely bleeding clueless.

<ends rant>
