Actually, it started off neutrally, occasioned by the fact that 'Concern for the Queen's Health' was starting to look a bit weird after she'd been dead several weeks. Unfortunately (unless you only move in circles occupied entirely by bootlickers, cap-doffers, curtain twitchers or the actual aristocracy and their minions) threads about the royal family are destined to become disrespectful, on account of their being a bunch of thick, inbred, talentless, self-serving, racist parasites with no legitimate function in a modern society. Sorry.

Don't be sorry, it's not your fault you were born like that.

Which is it, Shep?

A dim-witted, sub-teenager level playground insult...

...or a sophisticated ironic rebuke to theclaud highlighting the natal pre-determinism we all face, to some extent, including the Royals?

Actually I had to work at it, being brought up partly by my grandmother who, though a very kind and wonderful person, was definitely of the fawning and curtain-twitching persuasion, and a little bit racist. Perhaps it's a Wolverhampton thing.

A general characteristic of that generation, I think. My parents & E's parents, with their vastly different levels of education, all had similar opinions on race, though expressed differently.

That's a bit of a sweeping generalisation of a generation I'd say.
Yes there was, and still is plenty of racism to be found.

But there was lots of anti racism sentiment and action in our parents and grandparents generation too.

We wouldn't have made what progress we have, without those people fighting injustice.

Not sure if I qualify as being of "that generation", but, I think I am probably old enough to be your Father, so, thank you for acknowledging that date of birth and/or educational background are not necessarily qualifiers for racist sentiments. ;)

I'm going to random a guess at 5'7' and a half.

Dunno why - just a hunch 👀

Nope, there are plenty of other factors involved.

Mostly born of ignorance, poor socialisation, and a dearth of exposure to other cultures.

Plus ofc some folks just seem to revel in their own prejudices, enjoy the supposed 'shock' value, of their utterings, no matter how bellendish it makes them appear.

And also rather sadly, some people, despite espousing anti discrimination sentiment for themselves, will tacitly encourage the bigotry of others by implied approval of their statements. ;)

Funny old world innit??
