And yet it is you that is the angry hothead screaming out insults when somebody criticises your views.

But should banking be a basic service that can't be denied to customers as long as what they're doing is legal, or are banks are free to pick their clients based on whatever criteria they like ?

Yes it is a basic service, more so now with just about every transaction being a digital operation.

If it's legal banks should not be allowed to close accounts.

That doesn't mean a bank could not add additional charges if the account is more awkward to manage. These charges should be proportional and not excessive

Banks provide all kinds of accounts, most with some form of “qualifying” condition, eg minimum monthly deposit, minimum number of direct debits per month…., and with a variety of “perks”, eg overdraft, cash back….. Whilst it may be an obligation to provide a BASIC account (which would typically exclude such qualifying conditions, AND, perks,), I see nothing wrong with closing a customers account if they do not meet the qualifying conditions.

Do you not agree that a bank account is a right for every individual? Even a business account if you are running a business.?
