The Tory’s have always made a big deal of their financial responsibility, it’s almost been their credo.
They have lost it for a generation now. Every time someone makes a comment in the commons the reply will always be, “remember 2022”

The MPs who supported her in the past are now furious at her U-turn and throwing Kwarteng under the bus. Those who did not support her have had it confirmed they were right.

She hasn't got much going for her in Westminster, and I doubt if many in the 170000 strong blue rinse brigade would vote for her again.

Truss is back!!

i really want this to go to court so that a Barrister can raise the argument, "Ms Truss is widely perceived to have been a worse Prime Minster than a lettuce. What is this "reputation" that she speaks of?"

Somewhat ironic that a senior member of a party which - whilst in rule - spread misinformation with abandon is talking about "the truth".

Would such statements as Truss is trying to stop be able to said in Parliament under their Parliamentary Privilege?

I also wonder what might be the recourse if, instead of saying she crashed the economy, they went the other way and were so over the top effusive of her abilities that it was clearly sarcasm? "Oh, yes, Truss was a master of the economy. Truly exceptional human and stable genius. I hear on the way to Parliament she also healed a swan's wing and provided Physics with a compelling Unified Field Theory".

I mean that there is a solicitor with so little self respect and professional pride as to write the letter.
Apparently she had to go to lawyers who are mostly based in Tel Aviv... Asserson Law. I presume they wanted the cash and she couldn't afford Carter-f*ck

Maybe even Carter Fück couldn't bring themselves to write that letter.

That’s a very interesting point.
My understanding is that you can say pretty much what ever you want in parliament as long as you believe it to be true.
So all in all, it seems completely pointless.
