Think positive. Lose whilst a near certainty, the penalty is probably not 'lethal injection'. Yet.

Yup. But there are also increases for EVs with the majority of models going from £0 to over £400 despite not having any emissions to tax.
Lost revenue had to be recovered somehow.
They are very heavy though. So cause damage road to surfaces.
I have a gravel driveway and in 6 months the damage caused by my EV is noticeable more than an equivalent sized petrol car.

Something like 95% of road damage isn't caused by cars whether ICE or EV. It's caused by lorries which are vastly heavier than either. EVs are not hugely heavier than ICE cars.

It's more likely to be from the torque when you set off than the mass of the car.

I'm not sure what he's worrying about. People are deserting X in their droves. Bluesky looks quite good. It's very similar to that app we used to use with the little blue bird logo...

From X to Bluesky: why are people fleeing Elon Musk’s ‘digital town square’?
Musk’s platform has lost 2.7 million active US users in two months, while its rival has gained 2.5 million
...
According to the digital market intelligence company Similarweb, the number of daily active US users on X has dropped by 8.4% since early October, from 32.3 million to 29.6 million.

I think much if the demise of Twitter is Musk's doing in that he's making things a lot worse for the company.

I suppose one aspect to this is that it's not only Musk's money he losing (in large amounts) but also the money of those stupid enough to invest in his stupidity.

Apart from emissions from gas being burnt in power stations.
That's not compulsory. It's a governmental choice.
Plus emissions of brake and tyre dust which are generally greater from EVs due to their extra weight.
Not brake dust. They use far less brake pad than an ICE car. Yes tyres are still a bit contentious but, as I keep having to point out - they are not *that* much heavier than their ICE counterparts. This is a false canard used by the ICE lobby.

and when it is popular enough, it can be bought by Trumpettes, just like Twitter, if indeed it hasn't already been.

Better learn sooner than later: federate now, probably on mastodon.

Guesses for how long President Musk will last before Vice President Trump takes over?

My guess is Musk might last until late-Jan, likely after the inauguration so setting a date my guess is he'll be "out of favour" (well sidelined) 31 Jan 2025.
