Yes but things in the US like many other countries have become much more expensive, so if you ask is in Way A or B the answer is always gonna be ''yes it is more expensive'' The point that the democrats should have tackled is the assumption the Trump campaign has placed that implies that he would have done it better.

The fact is prices are rising because we need to pay for the pandemic, EV hype etc. etc. that's a worldwide thing.

Whoosh, and the point escapes as if captured by a tornado.

Workers measure their wealth what they can continue to buy. Inflation does not need to be high for people to notice their ability to buy less, or they have less left over at the end of each month.

From the charts, inflation under Biden was not spectacularly high, especially in his last year. However, the charts do reveal real wage stagnation.
Fuel prices may also have been fresh in the memory of many Americans. (Despite Trump's batshittery about needing ID to buy a loaf of bread).
During the Biden administration Americans were at one time paying typically >$5 per gallon for both petrol and diesel*. And whilst the price has since fallen, for a culture so car dependent, that will have hurt and stayed in the memory, especially when real wages were stagnant.
*IIRC, there were videos at the time, ranging from how to fit an extra fuel tank to your pick up, to contenders for Darwin awards using carrier bags to carry petrol in the boot of their vehicle.

Harris didn't help herself by tying herself very closely to the Biden administration and track record. Asked in an interview if there was anything over the last 4 years that she would have done differently to Biden, she said 'Not a thing comes to mind'
I can see why she said what she said (importance of loyalty) but she answered stupidly which is not a good sign. My thoughts were she should have answered raising the question of "timing" in that she could have said at the time those decisions were made they were right but decisions needed for today would be different ie you have to decide based on current conditions and current conditions today are different from conditions 3 years ago (eg wars, pandemics, etc.).

Who says the USA is a bit weird.

Missouri
Presidential results
Trump 58.5%
Harris 40.1%

Abortion amendment.
This amendment would establish a constitutional right to reproductive rights and would remove Missouri's ban on abortion.
Yes 52%
No 48%

And (this one may be easier to reconcile).
Missouri voters have approved a state ballot measure that will increase the state minimum wage starting in 2025 and provide employees in the state with paid sick and safe leave, becoming one of the latest to join the growing list of states with some form of earned paid sick time.

why is that weird?

Not every Tory voter agrees with every policy put forward by the Tories and same re labour voters and labour policies?

Its not a requirement that you have to agree with every policy of a politician to elect them to power
