The US does seem to be in thrall to the weirdest of people.

...conspiracists, the 16 per cent of Americans who agree with the statement that ‘the government, media and financial worlds in the US are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping paedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation.’..

Still, if the States does implode, it might have the effect of encouraging the UK to re-evaluate its relationship with Europe.

Do they have a sort of group of nations of Europe that maybe we could join????

M8ght be useful if Biden and Harris simply swap.

Biden obviously sees withdrawing as the end of a useful life.

Joking question, but extremely important
Nope just stupid. Perhaps give it a moment's thought?

If America is attacked at 11pm, they don't call the President for advice. A whole military chain of command will swing into place. There may, at some point be a need to consult POTUS. They don't just call his mobile. They willl call the White House who will have a permanent member of staff manning an emergency line. That member of staff will then send someone to wake POTUS, and as soon as POTUS is able he will get to a secure line / room to give advice. POTUS will already be aware of the decisions that he or she can make, and the main contribution will be "yes" or "no".

There is no military equivalent of calling your dad in the event that war breaks out.

Finally - who do you think will understand the question being asked and be able to give a considered non--partisan response in the best interests of the USA? Biden or Trump?

Yes, no doubt the famous "lessons will be learned" has been rigorously applied, since that Sunday in December 1941.

Is he able to make that decision, when he is now at the cognitive stage of a todler, easily manipulated

President aides openly talk about convincing him to step down.

Not long now

Embarrassingly and really cringeworthy, Biden referred to Zelensky as President Putin today.

Sadly it is only going to get worse and take what could be crucial votes from the Democrats in the Presidential election. Not sure that it will mean extra votes for Trump but could make a big difference to the result.

Partisanship is used to make weak excuses for both sides in this Presidential campaign.

Biden is clearly struggling with the impact of ageing on clarity of thinking and Trump has been struggling with his own mental issues for a long time.

Neither of these two candidates is a sound choice to be president for the next four years, and it is doubtful that Biden could last that long, but the US is a very strange place, and the country and the rest of the world will just have to keep their fingers crossed.
