Report of Ukraine military intelligence sriking a unit connected with attrocities, in the unit's military compound.

- Near Vladivostok 5000 miles from Kyiv.

:notworthy: That's further than Dar Es Salaam is from my house.

[I've been to Dar Es Salaam]

I wonder which of the long range missiles that have filtered through the system struck the 155th 800okm's away. I think Ukraine's shift away from not hitting targets inside Russia is crucial. It also suggests that Putin is full of bluff when he het's uppity about Ukraine joining NATO - they are varely keeping the Ukrainian at bay and a full NATO assault would flatten Russia's military. Maybe the level of western antipathy and rhetoric is a smoke screen for his vulnerability.

The source added that Ukrainian intelligence intends to hold accountable “every Russian occupier responsible for war crimes on Ukrainian soil.”

That statement suggests a Ukrainian confidence plus the strike underlines the weakness of Russia's so called air defence system.
Come on Zelensky - the Kremlin next with Pootin and some cronies in it.

I don't think it was a missile strike, some sort of special forces operation, no idea how they could attack a target at that distance though.

What @the snail said. It looks to have been boots on the ground.
There appear to be group/s in Russia who are helping Ukraine. There was a fuel train derailment a few days ago (IIRC), which was thought to be caused by a group sympathic to Ukraine, so may be there are groups who helped Ukraine military intelligence give some pay back?
Also, I saw last week ago a suggestion that may be easier for Ukrainians to be Russian than it is for Russians to be Ukrainian. There was drone footage of a Ukrainian soldier who was walking along a road seemingly talking with 2 or 3 Russians. Not quite sure what happened for him to be in that position, but he turned a potentially deadly situation for him, into one which became fatal for the 2 or 3 Russians.
Although going back to the military base strike, one would have thought some local assistance might have been necessary, if only because the local accent in Vladivostock, is likely to be different to that 5000 miles further West.
