I agree
They can;t be allowed to exists in a vacuum without people knowing about them and being able to check what they are doing/saying

Hopefully contact with the outside world will persuade some of them to enter reality - even if only slowly - and maybe access help

Groups that exists in their own bubble and never see th eoutside world tend to only get worse - like cults

Agree.
Under my Bush I'd not heard of incel culture until very recently and thanks to NACA. Such ideologies (if that's the right word) need to be brought into the open and exposed for what they are...

Fortunately we have the occasional non-conformist in NACA to burst our own particular bubble, otherwise who knows what sort of peace and love might break out?

I have some sympathy here with your bush syndrome. I had heard the term but assumed (NEVER ASSUME!) it was yet another designation for an eternal victim group as per critical race theory and general wokeism.

In fact it seems to be another manifestation of a disintegrating society, and the substitution of the Internet for 'real' life. I'm no luddite but social media can be a very real curse.

They did, but as with many things, the Internet facilitates the grooming of socially isolated young men into angry misogynists. Whatever spark of minor worry, grievance, or fixation you have there are online communities who will nurture and reinforce those unhealthy thoughts, turning them from mild pondering to dangerous obsession. And then you view everything through the lens of that obsession.

I don't know what the answer is other than getting kids to get off the net and engage with real life and real people. Education too. I often think the world would be better if you could close the net for a week, except for commerce and work/emergency services. Just shut it down and make everyone go for a walk.

Entitled man-babies existed before the internet.
Only now they've got their own special club.

Yup, it is exactly that.

For guys who think they should have some kind of right of access to other peoples bodies or attention.

It's nothing new, just a new formulation, and way of expressing the same old aggrieved entitlement.

I agree that this is true but it also allows the oppressed to gain strength and solidarity with others similarly affected. I don’t know whether one balances the other. Time will tell.

It's a really nice idea, I'm one of those people lucky enough to be able to do just that, away from internet connection altogether.

Unfortunately there are a lot of less confident / priveleged women , who are too frightened to do that, for fear of running across one of those 'entitled' guys.

But yes ongoing, education, on healthy relationships, boundaries, emotional intelligence, consent and so forth,

Only for willing students :okay:
Well yes, to an extent.

But it does also give people trying to resist, or counter poor attitudes, some ready made materials for educating others.

Such as the classic "would you like a cup of tea?" cartoon strip.

And access to vocabulary, and concepts that maybe weren't really in circulation when we were growing up.

Such as 'enthusiastic consent' 'unbalanced power dynamics' even 'entitlement' itself..

I don’t quite understand what this guy thought would happen but it should result in his arrest.

He tries to get a woman, who has rejected his advances, to listen to a song he wrote and when she drives off he chases her “for a couple of blocks”, clearly causing her sufficient alarm that she calls her father. Her dad calls the guy and warns him off. The guy then goes to the police to report what happened and it’s crazy that there are men who will articulate this guy’s mindset.

He says women like being chased down the street, that most women like having rape fantasies and that the victim “should go do porn”.

At least the cop tells him to leave her alone but I’m hoping that some follow up was done with the victim with a view to prosecuting this guy. He seems to me to be a worrying threat to women.

Edit: It appears he has since been arrested and charged with aggravated stalking and harassment.

"You know what happens when women don't come to terms with themselves"

Oh and "Something something something 'woke*' 'lgbtq carp'.. "

*Take note of the use of this word by this guy @Unkraut - he's making out that this woman disqualifies herself from his respect by being gay. And that he himself is the victim of 'wokeness'.

You might want to rethink your use of that word, I've never heard it come out of the mouth of anyone who really respects other human beings.

In case anyone thinks this guy's attitude is incredibly rare..
Believe me, it really isn't..

It's the kind of thing routinely promoted by incel / rape culture / violent pornography / misogyny adherents.

Imo it's decent guys who need to be aware of, and countering this kind of thing far more strongly, rather than just ignoring it, and leaving it to women to have to highlight and fight.
