I did find myself wondering about how stable she might be after being thrown under the Johnson bus while still defending him. She might turn into a very bitter person.

I think it emphasises the sense of exceptionalism and superiority that afflicts the Tory party and how they are running (ruining) the UK.

I suspect that what will happen now will be a lot of undignified and crass arguing about was the gathering a party or not, and the technical definition of a party, when, at the end of the day, it was an unnecessary gathering of people contrary to the guidance being given to us plebs outside Downing Street.
Johnson is trying hard to make the mock press conference, and his disgust for it, the story, helped by Stratton's tearful apology, rather than the disregard for rules, designed to control the spread of Covid, which took place under his watch.
