Yes, I know that. It wasn't a serious suggestion. Perhaps, I should say, I know that, at present, but, in the event of a GE, if a coalition was necessary, and, SNP help the balance of power, perhaps she could then?... I have no idea of the constitutional implications. Interesting times.

no - she couldnt.....as she doesnt stand as an MP

In the event of such a coalition (in an impossible fantasy world where the Labour Party would prefer to form a government rather than enable yet another Tory administration) the deputy PM would be Ian Blackford, who is leader of the SNP in Westminster.

Not a word of contrition for his failings from the podium.....

Bye, Boris! I for one won't miss you.

What damage can he do in the next few months?
I presume he still needs parliament to vote through and changes.
Who will be in his cabinet?
So many questions.

I've just watched Johnson's resignation speech on BBC World. It was typical Johnson - did he actually mean what he said, or was he just saying the right things regardless of believing them to be true?

Whilst you can't have a vacuum at the top, so the handover needs to be orderly, I think he needs to go sooner rather than later.

As others have said the lack of contrition or acknowledgement of any part in his own demise was striking.
