The main electorate for the leader are grass roots members of the Tory Party. MPs elect two rivals for the members to choose from.

Ms Truss is reportedly very popular with the members and one suspects constituency chairs will apply pressure to get her on the ticket.

Hunt is reported to be still interested; his 2019 campaign was never wound up.

Mark Harper may run on the 'common-sense group' ticket. Leadsom may still have the chutzpah to try again as well.

If you're talking about Cummings, he was out of the government in mid-November. The only other Dominic I can think of is Raab, who has neither the guts nor the gumption. They'll know who had the camera's line of sight, though.

I was expecting something from the Mirror but it's not exactly a coup de grâce, more of a further injury to a hunted animal.

It wasn’t a serious suggestion, but, presumably Cummings may still have friends lurking (or should that be skulking) in Government circles.
