The unanimous verdict among my drinking pals last night “Boris is finished”.

As I mentioned in another thread a few weeks back:

He's just a figurehead and the conservative party machine will use him as it would any figurehead, when he attracts too much bad press and damages them they will replace him. He's not making the policy decisions (my opinion), there will be a small cadre of mini Cummings doing that.

I agree. He will lose Shrophire on Thursday / Friday and the letters will be in to the 1922 committee for Monday followed by a vote of no confidence. He won't resign he will need to be removed. Labour is now polling far above the Tories and the by-election will seal it.

The by election will mean nothing to the next election though...some might change their vote because of Johnson but come the election they'll be back.
