Webbe has been sentenced to 10 weeks in gaol suspended for 2 years:

If her expected appeal fails then she faces a possible recall petition.

The good burghers of Leicester East haven't had much luck with their elected representatives recently.

Coke head and dirty old man Keith Vaz followed by this creature.

Talk about get rid of Jack and up pops Jill.

My advice to residents is vote Conservative.

If you are going to have a useless, lying, waste of space for an MP, you might as well have one that's in government.

There's also a fighting chance a Tory might operate to a higher standard than Vaz or Webbe, which wouldn't be difficult.

I'm sure they have all been breathless with anticipation.

It does rather look like electing another Labour MP would be a triumph of hope over expectation.

Plenty more hook wriggling before we get to that stage.

Webbe, like Onasanya, will never accept guilt, and the pair of them will go to their graves propelled by a crushing sense of injustice.

The selection committee needs looking at if that’s their best candidate.
But it’s difficult to take the Tory’s seriously when their proposal to chair the standards select committee is John Whittingdale, who was caught with a call girl.

There is a thread running through the cases of Fiona Onasanya, Jared O'Mara (who unseated Nick Clegg), Claudia Webbe and Tory sex pest Rob Roberts. All were effectively accidental MPs. The Labour trio were all selected in a hurry for unexpected elections with, in Webbe's, case the added factor of Vaz's downfall. Roberts, given that 2019 was not a planned election year, was also selected in haste. He the momentum of being in a 'Wal Goch' seat, Delyn which was not expected to fall to the Tories; neighbouring Flint did not.

It will be interesting to see how many more fall. Plenty more opportunities for Tories to fall for the promise of cash or other incentives.

Did I misunderstand, or is Alexander Boris De Pfefell Johnson subject to a referral to the Commissioner over work at Number 10 (and possibly hospitality too)?

This is how things have gone over the last 30 years though. MP candidates used to be mostly local people with ties to the area. Now both Tory and Labour are happy with candidates who are parachuted in or selected on the basis of identity politics, with little thought of the actual constituents.

A striking choice of terminology.

"Creature", "Scum",...... yes, it is so difficult to choose an appropriate derogatory term ;)

There's a debate to be had (and we are, sort of, having it) about the appropriateness of calling this government scum. I would have hoped that calling a black woman a "creature" was rather more clear cut. Honestly, is the gap from that to making monkey noises at black footballers all that great?

A bit like that scrupulously honest Tory, Paterson of very recent fame.
