If I drink enough, do you reckon some of that miserable lot in the joke thead might sound vaguely amusing?

Is that even possible?

I am likely to purchase an ev soon but agree they are not the best fit for all. There is definitely something to be said for keeping all manner of consumables running for longer, cars included. The constant upgrading and the manufacturing required plus the waste must be a significant contributor to mass energy consumption.
The car that's best for the environment is probably the one you've got, if you don't replace it. I've never seen any calculations but I reckon it would take many years of running an average sized car to approach the cost to the environment of making a new one.

Also, the sheer number of househoulds I see with 3 or more cars is crazy. Houses in my area regularly have 5-6 cars. I understand these are often extended family househoulds, but surely cars can he shared?

Convenience I guess. Plus people often work some distance from where they live these days.

I do think the fall in used ev prices will bring more people on board; you just have to get over your range anxiety and be prepared to plan a bit in order to make an ev work.

EV's are becoming better and more affordable. More importantly, better built and more affordable than Tesla's.

Tesla is in deep brown stuff; an ageing and limited model range, prices that no longer compete )now that the monopoly in that price range is broken) and a public that don't want to buy them.
The $5.5 billion Gigafactory in Germany might be obsolete without sales and rising competition particularly as:

South Korean battery makers, like LG Energy Solution (LGES), are exploring collaborations with Chinese suppliers to produce low-cost electric vehicle (EV) batteries, particularly for the European market, amid concerns about tariffs and global demand.

Oh and sales predictions were wildly optimistic. The sales predictions artificially bloated the share price but Tesla is feeling the bite of a lack of sales and very poor build quality of the Cybertruck. Apparently (and according to the Grauniad), the govt. contract to supply the Cybertrucks are on hold.
7 recalls already and fires that have caused deaths ((watch the video)

Picture the scene: a comedy club which has been open for several years, ticking over nicely. A comedian from out of town comes in and starts his set. First joke gets no laughs. Second joke... nope, but a bit of heckling. He tries telling the third one louder, but a few more hecklers join in. Hmm doesn't seem to be working. What to do? Aha, tell the punters they've got no sense of humour. "Yes, that should do the trick!" the comedian reassures himself.

What did I miss with the mysogeny theme? Someone hasn't just made another Nicola Sturgeon (who for the avoidance of doubt is a national treasure) joke have they?
