I really hope these three spend every day of their sentences under constant fear of the other prisoners getting their hands on them. The tariffs feel pretty light to me, it’s not often I’ve seen the SIO for a case cry after being interviewed.

I am not one to condone violence, but, I am tempted to agree with you.

From the article:

"A child practice review is now set to take place to allow the authorities to learn from what happened to Ethan."

Don't they (the Authorities) already know the answer?

Investigating how these things can have happened despite all the safeguarding protocols already in place is always crucial. The central question will be whether safeguarding protections are adequate but not followed, or are there gaps in the protocols. Horrible cases like this can help in exposing flaws in procedures or their application.

I understand the theory, but, it doesn’t seem to be working, does it?

Apparently, last night's HIGNFY has been quickly pulled from iPlayer because it has a scripted bit about the debunked conspiracy theory about Euan Blair's business being lined up to supply UK ID cards. Oops.

This smacks of doubling down on a policy that's already not working (unless you think that having to arrest hundreds of old people carrying pieces of cardboard is success). Somehow millions of people around the world protested in support of Palestinians yesterday, but the peaceful oldies in London are obviously so much more dangerous than all the rest.

It obviously hasn't dawned on Starmer that they are mocking a really stupidly restrictive law (or at least the way it's being applied), and doubling down will only make the protesters more resolute.

Protests in support of Palestine, and against genocide have been going on for months here fairly peacefully. The difference here is the protests are in support of a proscribed terrorist organisation which is an arrest-able offence, which is what they want.
If Palestine Action have not been treated fairly by an Act of Parliament then that is the message the protesters should be getting across. Combining it with anti-genocide is being a bit disingenuous imo.

Move over Truss: the new French Prime Minister, Lecornu, lasted just four weeks before resigning.

Just in case anyone was under any illusion that the 'Get Rayner' mob were going to let up now she's not in the government... just checked on Google Maps, and that's a grand total of 1.7 miles.

It's arguably myogenistic at this point. Or because she's ginger. Or northern.

My point being, the gutter press treatment of her is like being in a school playground, watching someone get rounded on.

Well at least the newspapers of full of their investigations of Farridge avoiding more than £44,000 in additional stamp duty on the purchase of the house by putting it in his partner's name, saying that she bought it with her own funds even though she has next to no assets, surely they wouldn't just drop a juicy story like that.
