You might have to try quite a lot of pubs in the West End / Soho.If there are no seats, I'll leave for another pub.

People tend to get a larger car once they have kids and have to fit in car seats, prams, pushchairs, portable potty, changing bag and all that paraphernalia. This then turns into multiple school bags, musical instruments, stuff for sleepovers etc. They tend to downsize again once the kids have flown the nest.I said in most cases so hardly a generalisation is it? I don't feel that's too controversial as most people with several kids manage fine with a standard hatchback

In some cases there are specific requirements - mine is a flat boot bed for loading a 6 foot and a bit keyboard case plus room for an amp, music stand, mic stand, cable bag and other assorted paraphernalia.
And yet some people have kids, but not car.
That's fine if you live in say London, and have excellent public transport options.......
If you have effectively no public transport.....

Indeed. I have no doubt that, as with the attacking of DEI in the states, there is an undercurrent of racism in certain sections of the media.
This is well worth the read - putting a lot of the blame on Cambridge Uni, while not seeking to exculpate Arday. A quite extraordinary figure of when the writer graduated in 2015, he was one of just 15 black males out of 3449 students, and black academics still in single figures.

I think you drink faster when standing though (at least I do) especially if you have nothing to put your glass on.
My general experience is that most people will find something to justify whatever car choices they make, even if the chosen activity is just a couple of times a year. "I can't possibly be expected to carry my piccolo on public transport!!"
I think my favourite sight was a lady who used to get her double bass in a Mini Metro. (I used to get my 6'11" harpsichord in my Chrysler Sunbeam.)

But was there enough headroom for your powdered wig?
I saw the flip side this afternoon while out cycling some country back roads. Little old man possibly late 70s or early 80s in a large car.
He was driving with his hands up at eye level and peering through the steering wheel spokes.
