Can the (Met) police ever change?

Totally doable with such a small population - 2,000 people. Good luck to them. At least the new officers will know the community will have no qualms about holding them to account.

I'm always amazed how the US police system works. They really are a bit of a law to themselves, especially in rural, low population areas. Lots of nepotism and you seem to be able to run the force as your own private fiefdom if you wish. If I recall correctly, there was a small US town where the council made a convicted arsonist Fire Chief a few years ago.

Should be easy to replicate.

Vincent: Population <2000, Police department 3

London: Population 8.6 million, Met police 43000.

A mum was left terrified after a serving Met Police officer made a series of creepy comments - including telling her he would "love to conduct a search on her".

PC Andrew Turner made inappropriate remarks about 28-year-old Marwa Mohammed's body, told her he "really liked" her and asked if she had “enough Nando's for two”.

He also told the mum he "would have loved to conduct a search on her in custody" in a phone call that she recorded because she was so sickened by his conduct.

The officer was slapped with a final warning after a misconduct panel ruled his actions were "inappropriate and fell far below the standards expected

Utterly shameful. Surely a sacking offence?
How on earth can women have any confidence in reporting anything, let alone sexual offences, to the Met?

One of those articles that needs reading to the end.

At first glance it appears the Met are suing her for breaching a confidentiality agreement.

What actually seems to have happened is that she agreed she'd breached the agreement and that she would repay £60k. She's being sued after failing to do so.

Now it may be she has good reason not to but it will be interesting to see what happens next.

The NDA is bad form in itself.
