There is a fair bit of disquiet in the labour camp. True women are upset

The Labour party is a broad church

It was the part where prominent women MPs who are known for not being shrinking violets, are afraid to speak out against trans zealots for fear of being targeted.

That would be male aggressive stereotype trans attacking women

At this point, it's worth widening the perspective out of a parochial UK view, given that trans people are a global phenomenon.

Just as the US has Qanon for obsessive conspiracy theorists, the UK has the anti-trans movement. Both have the support of the far right.

Other countries don't have this. Which is why the UK is known as Terf Island, with a media and now political party driving this culture war.

There are 40+ countries where Self ID is working without the apocalyptic consequences foretold by the transphobes.

There are 40+ countries where Self ID is working without the apocalyptic consequences foretold by the transphobes.

Working great in Spain this week where someone murdered and raped their teenage cousin and after arrest began their transition. Can now only be searched by female prison officers and has requested a move to a women's prison.

Working great in Canada where Ash Davis a former winner of the Men's cricket hardest hitter award, now plays rugby on the women's team as a transwoman. Allegedly there were 3 women injured in one match and the referee removed them from the field.

Working marvellously in the US where transwomen imprisoned for rape and violent offences continue to be moved to women's jails. eg double baby killer Jesdica Marie Hann, formerly Jason, now in the general population of a Californian women's prison.

And in the UK, when services don't use the allowed exceptions of the Equality Act, and allow access to men, the inevitable happens:

Nope. Self ID affects very little, which you would know if you arrived informed, rather than ignorant.

I can understand the frustration you must feel at operating on a higher intellectual plain than the rest of us, but you will struggle to convince anyone the cases cited by Aurora are 'nothing to do with self ID'.

Isolated incidents maybe, and even though 'one bad apple' no longer works for the cops you could still play that card in this case.

But 'nothing to do with self ID' will not wash.

Self ID, as legislated for in Scotland and promised for England/Wales by Theresa May was legalistic niche stuff to bring law around Gender Recognition Certificates back into alignment with current medical thinking.

So far as the kind of incidents etc brought up by the GC crew it's a complete red herring.

"Will not wash" just means that you don't understand what Self ID is, and, more saliently, what it isn't.

As for operating at a higher intellectual plane than "the rest of us", no. Just demonstrably higher than you, AndyCXR and poor old Shep.

I wouldn't put money on myself against anyone else, whether they hold similar views or not.
