It's being reported that turnout has been one of the lowest for a referendum in recent voting history...
Does anyone know why the change was rejected? Are we just putting this down to the power of the Catholic church or is there something else going on? There appears to be a lack of analysis from the reports I've seen.

Equally though, you can't gloat if a vote goes the way you hope.

"See, I told you so!"

"You must be really pleased that your vote helped make a difference."

"Well, er, about that..."

Off course I can

From what I've read that seems to be a suggestion, which wouldn't come as a huge surprise.

Pretty hollow celebration if you couldn't even be arsed to vote for something you care about.

The Irish public result is what the silent majority looks like.

I can think of several other subjects that would be similar result if put to some vote

:okay:

Ahhh, the good old silent majority thing you love going back to. And yet you get your panties in a bunch about a vocal minority.

Galaxy mind thinking right there.
