It’s interesting that some pro-Israeli individuals and groups are referring to the octopus as an anti-Semitic trope, but Israeli politicians often use the term to describe Iran and Islamism.

They can’t have it both ways.

Which actions are you asking me to condemn? You've never clearly said.

'Pretty offended' is in quotes because it's a quote of your own words, rather than my words. That's how quotes work. If you're talking about you being offended that a toy which GT supposedly uses to help with her autism has been mistakenly taken to be an allusion to an antisemitic stereotype, I think it's fair to ask why you feel justified in feeling 'pretty offended' by this (your words) but others aren't by the possible allusion in the first place. These are times of heightened tension and sensitivity, and even if this was a genuine accident, it's not performative outrage when people have had a hundred years of these stereotypes and think 'Here we go again'.

Jesus Christ would you ever answer what people are actually asking and not just what you want to pretend they're asking? Stop making stuff up.

Indeed.

We are implementing the Octopus Doctrine,” says Naftali Bennett, Israel’s prime minister. “We no longer play with the tentacles, with Iran’s proxies: we’ve created a new equation by going for the head.”

The octopus is a trope to suggest Jewish financiers & bankers control or seek to control the world. It predates the creation of Israel.

This is another from the Times of Israel in 2015:

Israeli Deputy Minister Ofir Akunis says that the EU decision to take Hamas off its terrorist organization list last month signaled to extremists across Europe that they could carry out deadly attacks such as the ones witnessed in France.

“Anyone can see that the octopus arms of Islamism will strike at Europe,” he tells Army Radio.”

It only takes the briefest of searches to see that the poor octopus has been used as a propaganda tool depicting all sorts of countries and people in cartoons.

It's by no means uniquely antisemitic.

Understand that, but one would expect that if it’s offensive to Jewish people, the Israeli leaders would not use the same reference to describe Iran or Islamists?

What are you asking me to condemn? You've never actually said though I've asked you twice.

The use of a disability aid as a political weapon.

But was anyone hurt by it? I mean beyond performative outrage. Because I'm not Jewish but I am autistic and I'm pretty offended at the weaponisation of what I know is an innocent and useful communication aid for people like me.

'Monkeys and bananas pre date human existence so any reference to those 2 things in connection with black people couldn't possibly be interpreted as a racist allusion. Anyway, people of all races eat bananas so they can never be used as a racist trope'.
