Israel was quick to claim the woman they killed the other day was throwing rocks, there is no apparent reason for this.

That report makes no mention of more than 600 West Bank Palestinians killed since the Hamas attack. Illegal settlers appear to be largely responsible, with the IDF rarely intervening.
The BBC one I linked to does. And that's likely it, but with nobody claiming responsibility nobody can say for sure, hence "apparent".
