Not really. The US is not seen as a fair arbitrator - siding with Israel. Russia on the other hand has good relations with both the Arabs (cold war allies) and Israelis (many Israelis come from Russian and have links with the country).

Maybe he is a bit smarter than you and understand that Hamas doesn't understand Human rights period so has to be stopped. I mean where you calling ''ceasefire'' when started operations against Isis? Or does Hamas need to capture and behead all filmed in 4k video a uk aid worker first before you lot understand that ''ceasefire'' is in fact murder?

And if the ''ceasefire'' would lead to something lets say for example that Egypt would agree to let Palestinian civilians in, it would be something you known it would be reasonable to wait a or so week for the civilians to be evacuated.
But for some reason nobody in the region trust Palestinians so any ceasefire doesn't really make sense it only allows Hamas to reinforce and makes the chance the hostages don't survive bigger.
