My impression is that they are requesting on the basis he likely has information that can help them identify perpetrators worthy of further investigation. Not that they are trying to prosecute him nor arrest him. They were interviewing one of the US Committee a few days ago and the US committee member was saying Andrew could do it over video link (they didn't add "from whatever palace or castle he happens to be staying in at the time").

Everything I've seen has been requesting help on the basis it's the right thing to do not a question of jurisdiction.

That said the man's a fool so I don't read every detail relating to his exploits.

Thousands of documents full of names and dates, and even photographs but they still need a foreigner to help them out? I smell a rat.

Cabinet Office accused of covering up for royal family after blocking release of Andrew documents
The Cabinet Office has been accused of covering up for the royal family after the release of documents including some relating to travel expenses for the former Duke of York as UK trade envoy were withheld at the last minute.
Our money, our representative (at the time) doing work for us and yet we are not allowed to see what was going on even years after the events.

No accountability, no public scrutiny. Why are we still giving these people so much money?

The British Head of State shouldn't be able to appear in public without journalists asking about his brother's relationship with Epstein or the previous head of state making payments to his victim

It won't happen, as any journalist asking these questions would never work again

Is the Andrew formerly known as Prince now called Andrew Mountbatten-Sandringham?
Remember he is still a Duke. He might have decided not to use the title though that doesn't mean he doesn't expect you to use the title.

And being realistic, eg Meghan still uses her previous "HRH Meghan, Duchess of Sussex" title (and for profit) despite them having agreed she would not use the title.

According to Private Eye, he opposed the appointment, so, would “I told you so” be an appropriate comment? 😊

Supposedly Charles advised that his brother would:

Curry favour with wealthy people
Chase women
Play golf

On that basis Charles has gone up in my estimation, more astute than I thought.

Does everyone have to account for the actions of their parents and siblings now?

I have no strong feelings either way for the royals, but can’t see how Charles has anything to answer for.

He was paying him a princely sum, and he had official duties, which means he was part of the 'firm'. Also the reputational hit has to be dealt with to keep republican sentiment down.

My complaint would be that the royals only acted when forced to. A bit like, say, a fast-food company which only starts to act on abuse of young employees when forced to by publicity.

Shameful.
