Not news. Saw this in a shelter at the top of the Mortirolo and it displays all that is wrong with cycling in the UK.
13 top quality closed road sportives (specifically not races). All free to enter.

Well, not sportives as such, but just closed roads for the passes. There are a few around here as well... 13, 19 Sept & 3 Oct, for the cols de Tourniol, Rousset, et la Chaudière.

Nice for the French too then. My point was that UK cyclists get ripped off.
The Fred Whitton was £125 + processing charges.

Yes, I do think we get ripped off, but those open cols aren't sportifs. The local one here is 55€ for one day, 88€ for two, and 115€ for three, with a jersey and food included, and some closed roads. When I'm fit again and retired, I might do it.

Lewis Goodall is getting dragged for this... it sprang from a discussion in which he opined that school shutdowns might have been an overreaction.

Haha, Goodall stuck to his guns, but one of the scientists challenging him didn't roll over, and it rather dominated the airwaves, not in Goodall's favour. Can't think why I was amused by her comment.

Obviously, I am only reading your posts, not the conversation itself but odd to see Lewis Goodall suggest long Covid is disputed, and he was also suggesting that covid school lockdowns were an overreaction. Is that correct?

I remember Christina Pagel from the pandemic, she was one of the very early proponents of an immediate lockdown and had the maths around the spread bang on from what I recall.
