Welcome yourself into the new modern crisis
Stop moaning then as without a valid passport you won't be going abroad any time soon and from what I've picked up your kids are a little young to be studying overseas anyway?
Not that I couldn't answer all of your points, even if I'm not actually going to, but you're on the wrong thread.

There's loads of literature out there about Asylum routes and why people might destroy documents; you're just raising straw men.

No argument, of course, just bullshite bingo.

Do you use that crap in real life?

I'm genuinely curious.

If I turned up for a ride with my cycling group and started blathering on about 'straw men' they'd suggest I went home for a lie down.

Of course he doesn't, doubt any of them do.

Some back bone being shown -

The Public and Commercial Services Union

' The union representing Border Force staff has announced it is taking part in a legal challenge against a plan by Priti Patel to push back small boats in the Channel.

PCS and the two charities it is bringing the legal challenge with are demanding Patel publish the details of the policy and the legal basis for it.

The PCS general secretary, Mark Serwotka, said: “The pushback policy being pursued by the home secretary is unlawful, unworkable and above all morally reprehensible.'

"Priti Patel is facing growing criticism from Tory MPs over the Home Office’s failure to open a programme to allow Afghans to resettle in Britain, three months after it was announced – as the crisis over the deaths of 27 people in the Channel escalates.

Some Conservative MPs are understood to have confronted the home secretary directly over the delay in launching the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS), which was announced with great fanfare in August as the Taliban seized control in Kabul. "

If, in a supposedly serious discussion, somebody raised the sort of issues you have on this thread (and regarding babies in the Commons) I'd absolutely name a straw man argument for what it is.

My roots are in the West Riding; I sometimes call a spade a bloody shovel.

My roots are in the West Riding; I sometimes call a spade a bloody shovel.

It gets used as a phrase round our way, fairly frequently too, when people are trying to shift the argument onto different territory, or set up ludicrous projected scenarios.

People who like to discuss, and debate, and dissect are generally wise to all this stuff.

It's just another fairly well known phrase in what is a rich store of possibilities given us by the English language..

Hell I think I've even heard my German farm help use it..

I'm from Huddersfield though so maybe it was something in our mother's milk??

Now residing in Devon i can spend ample time talk about the many and various materials shifting devices available to me.

Currently I'm using a square ended long handled shovel to clear shoot outta the chicken howse 👍🏼

Wow, that's quite something to come out and say out loud.

"The Ridiculous Human Rights Act"

Which bits does he object to I wonder ?

All of it, or just the inconvenient bits like the right to life...

WHAT RIGHTS DOES THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT PROTECT?
The right to life: protects your life, by law. The State is required to investigate suspicious deaths and deaths in custody.

The prohibition of torture and inhuman treatment: you should never be tortured or treated in an inhuman or degrading way, no matter what the situation.

Protection against slavery and forced labour: you should not be treated like a slave or subjected to forced labour.

The right to liberty and freedom: you have the right to be free and the State can only imprison you with very good reason – for example, if you are convicted of a crime.

The right to a fair trial and no punishment without law: you are innocent until proven guilty. If accused of a crime, you have the right to hear the evidence against you in a court of law.

Respect for privacy and family life and the right to marry: protects against unnecessary surveillance or intrusion into your life. You have the right to marry and enjoy family relationships.

Freedom of thought, religion and belief: you can believe what you like and practise your religion or beliefs.

Free speech and peaceful protest: you have a right to speak freely and join with others peacefully, to express your views.

No discrimination: everyone’s rights are equal. You should not be treated unfairly – because, for example, of your gender, race, disability, sexuality, religion or age.

Protection of property: protects against state interference with your possessions.

The right to an education: means that no child can be denied an education.

The right to free elections: elections must be free and fair.
🤔
I mean no, they're not exactly 100% adhering to, or upholding it all, as is.

But which parts is he specifically and ideologically opposed to??
