We know what areas it fell short in. It wasn't wide ranging enough. It covered only a few towns when gangs were operating in many towns and cities. It skirted around cultural sensitivities. We now know councils and organisations withheld relevant information from Jay.

This is probably the biggest social scandal in the UK in the last 50 years. It affected thousands of girls. We can't ensure it doesn't happen again if we aren't willing to fully investigate what occurred.

Implementing the Jay recommendations won't shed any more light on the institutions and individuals who failed these girls. Only a new far ranging enquiry will do that.

Anyone other than far-right disruptors calling for another enquiry?

The recommendations were not limited to specific towns or cities and are designed to reduce the chance of it happening elsewhere if introduced nationally. That must be the priority.

A national inquiry is not best suited to look in detail at scandals and their causes/remedies in individual locations imo, and allows for more delay and even more difficulty in ensuring every authority/organisation/person involved doesn't withold relevant information, especially years down the line.

Is it not important to take effective action against it happening now, to new victims, rather than kicking the can down the road, with yet another Enquiry?

Why can't both be done? You don't need to wait for a full inquiry to implement Jay's recommendations.

Yes, Jayne, with your MBE for years of working with vulnerable girls and ten years of working to publicise this scandal, you're a far right disrupter, I'm afraid.

Telford victim called for one according to Newsnight.

Journalist Charlie Peters has done extensive work with victims:

There are victims who don't support another enquiry. Mostly that seems to be because the last one achieved very little in practical terms.

It must be very difficult for the survivors of this epidemic of rape, violence, and abuse, to now have their motives questioned.
