She is from the UK. She has a Curruculum Vitae not a resumé.
Let's just check what was "found out". Her Labour Web Page said
She read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford followed by a Masters in Economics. This led to a job as an economist for 6 years. She then moved and worked at Halifax in Retail Banking for 4 years.
The slam dunk here appears to be that she didn't work quite as long solely as an economist as she said that she did. Her qualifications are not in question, just the duration of her dedicated work as an economist.
Let's compare shall we?
- Kwarteng has a classics and history degree and a PHD in economic history. He worked as a journalist before entering politics.
- Hunt studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford and worked as a management consultant before entering politics.
- Zahawi has a degree in chemical engineering then worked in marketing and management before entering politics
- Sunak has a degree in Business Administration then worked in banking as an analyst before joining a hedge fund
- Javid has a degree in economics and politics and actually worked in banking for 18 years
So the last 4 chancellors have had no knowledge or training in economics. How is it that they are seen as better at doing the job of chancellor than the current incumbent who has extensive training in economics?
Is it because she's a lady?
