A small achievement today - Drax has been reigned in a bit (although not completely):
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyplj7dkw2o
Article from several months ago but reporting a long term issue so still "current"

Drax will keep raising the levels of carbon emissions in the atmosphere until the 2050s despite using carbon capture technology, according to scientific research.
...
The new study found that the intensive forest management needed to source 7m tonnes of wood pellets from forests in the US to burn as fuel every year would erode the carbon stored in the ecosystems of these pine forests for at least 25 years.

It’s all fun and games with Labour MPs sending unsavoury messages in a private chat. (Who hasn’t sent private messages about others that we wouldn’t want others to see?)

But compare that with the Reform MP who was jailed for beating his girlfriend.

Strange how Labour can sanction their MPs. But Reform won’t.

Nope. Published Mon 4 Nov 2024 07.00 GMT so not related to current reports but reporting a long term issue with Drax for generating power (ie still relevant)
I think I see where the confusion is. You are talking about the Guardian article whilst I am talking about the BBC article.

He was just exercising his political values you see. You can't chuck someone out of the party for following the party line of "women belong in the kitchen, foreigners back where they came from and gays in prison"

Exactly, promotion in prospect I would have thought 😊

I asked chat gpt if Keith has more charisma than a plank of wood. This is from the answer.

Comparatively, describing his charisma as more engaging than a plank of wood would likely be seen as a humorous exaggeration.

Must be true, as a country we're betting big on AI, aren't we?
