They will be given a different number to call. If by mistake the wrong service attends, then claim back through insurance would be possible. But every immigrant needs to have valid policy as part of entering the country

If you're dying on the floor, there is no wrong service if an ambulance attends.

I don't see many countering the posts. They just want to sling insults at me- which is fine if that's their MO.

I'm not bothered one iota re insults, I've never been offended or upset by words against me

But I will still continue posting 👍

So part of the 999 call will be to check citizenship before an ambulance is sent? Might be difficult if you're collapsed with a heart attack. Much easier to say it on paper when you're a heartless cyborg living out in the sticks.
And the universal rule "reciprocity" may start to be applied by other countries. So have an accident abroad and guess what might end-up happening when an ambulance is called for you.

Reciprocity is amazing. A few years ago travelling Bolivia *(Peru & Chile) I had to do a few border runs as visas were limited to 30 days and on one return into Bolivia there was a US citizen at the border getting really angry as he has to pay US$150 for his visa and mine was free. Reason: US charge Bolivian citizens US$150 for visa/entry to US so Bolivia applies "reciprocity".

That is not true. There have been many posters showing you the untruth and exaggeration in the memes/tweets, but you never bother to try countering their rebuttals...other than your default laughing smiley.

When people see your scattergun retweets I would imagine they have given up trying to instigate a discussion with you as fruitless and just an opportunity for you to double-up on the memes.

I now prefer not to insult you, although I have in the past, as that obviously forms part of your enjoyment of the forum, but I will occasionally mock you when you say something clearly ridiculous such as the so-called "ban" on praying in your own home.

On healthcare: It's worth noting that if you are not UK resident you wont get free NHS healthcare. I'm a British citizen and I used to live in France. As a French resident in addition to paying French tax, French Social Charge, etc. I was also paying UK tax, NI contributions, etc. When I moved back to UK and was UK resident, about 9 months after my return my GP referred me to a hospital consultant. When I attended the appointment before the consultant could see me I was called in to a hospital administrator, interviewed, had to present documents proving my UK residency, etc.

He just wants attention and stomps his feet when he doesnt get it. Hence his "i don't care but I do care really" post about it.

Andy, copying and pasting X posts is not discussion worthy of reply. Nothing against left vs right, simply i have never had an account on twitter, x or any other mainstream social media and they are blocked from automatically appearing on my browser.

No, but once you've been dealt with, insurance will pay the NHS if NHS were the emergency responder.

Informing immigrants of the relevant first point of contact details is part of their information pack

A whole extra layer of bureaucracy and administration does not reduce waste, especially as refugees arriving by there own means are unlikely to have insurance of any kind. At some point you are going to be faced with the decision of refusing to treat people as they are here and have no insurance to claim off and then what? Be in violation of international law or what?

Yes it does if it's correctly applied.

Someone said something along those lines re the costs of DOGE costing several millions per week to run.

But the savings ran into many hundreds of millions per day saved.

DOGE needs a lot more time to judge its affectiveness and consequences than merely weeks.

DOGE was given the remit to go through just about every branch of government, seeking out waste, redundant payments, suspect contracts and stop them immediately until everything has been verified.

Trump promised that this would be done immediately taking power in January. DOGE has been allowed rapid response, creating momentum behind which more discoveries beget more momentum.

We all know the malaise of how slow and lack of action governments can slip into if momentum is lost.

This administration has promised a once in a lifetime opportunity to reduce federal oversight, waste across all branches. Resetting what many presidents of the past have promised but failed, those include Clinton and Obama.

This is the soft, disorganised approach successive governments has failed.

You cant come in unless you have in place insurance to protect you in the case of an emergency. You can't stay unless you continue to prove evidence of insurance.

I know what it is supposed to do. But time will tell if and what consequences there are and there will be. Weeks will not provide the full scope of any policy.

Off course not, only when every branch has been audited will the total savings will be realised.

The expectation is to bring down the debt interest payments so that the principal can be repaid, which stands around $36 trillion dollars

Immigrants who are not permanent residents already pay a hefty NHS charge on top of their NI contributions

I'll even put a screenshot here:

That cost applies to dependents as well. A student bringing in their husband as a dependent would have to pay the above amount times two. On top of that, the dependent would not be allowed to work and neither of them have recourse to public funds.
