Im not sure about that, seems rather premature and gung ho to be talking of boots in Ukraine before peace talks have only just begun
If Steve Witless thinks they are terrible it's a sure sign that they aren't.

In the meantime, Starmer would do well on reflecting along these lines

You can't make that judgement call, when a few other European heads have questioned the stance of starmer

Trump's toyboy is being rented out to Putin. The moron has swallowed Putin's cock bullshit completely and is just spouting the Kremlin's position which any sane person can see has zero credibility.
Given the only people on the planet who trust Putin are the tangoed Tw@t and his toyboys, prepsring to put a peacekeeping force on the ground in Ukraine is the only logical thing to do.
Alternatively Trump could just tell Putin he needs to go back to the 2014 borders.

Of course he won't Trump is in awe of Putin, and is very possibly a Russian stooge anyway.

Putin might be satisfied with a revised border taking in the Russian speaking regions. He can then quietly interfere with Ukrainian elections until he has a client government.

That's along the official lines they were going with anyway which makes me think that that is not the whole truth, I think we have recently seen exposed a hint of the real reason and that is a big fistful of delicious earth resources. The Russians have been ploughing in military resources and have been making progress in the Kursk region in recent weeks in preparation for that end.

To me this provides a good illustration of the nature of the Government we now have:
MPs have again voted to remove a Lords amendment to the national insurance contributions (NICs) bill that would exempt hospices from the rise in employer NICs in the budget.

Peers had tabled amendments to the bill that would introduce exemptions for the health and social care sector, including hospices, care homes, GP practices, dentists and pharmacies.

But today MPs voted 312 to 190, majority 122, to reject the introduction of exemptions.
(from https://www.theguardian.com/politic...reeves-keir-starmer-latest-politics-live-news)
Given how the sector are already struggling before the NIC increases to me it seems a particularly sensible amendment. A lot of reports of hospices having to close spaces (ie have free rooms they can't take people into) because they are having to cut staffing levels in part because of NIC increases. The sort of amendment that makes one think maybe the Lords do serve a purpose.

(nb I do think the Lords serves a purpose, just I don't agree with the way Lords are appointed).

It also feels really weird that this is the Labour party voting against this. Isn't this their sort of idea?
